Lucy secures a place on the Club Star Art Team!

We are very proud to announce that Cirencester Graduate Stylist Lucy Boodell has secured a place on the 2023 Fellowship Club Star Art Team.

The Fellowship for British Hairdressing was founded in 1946 as the Fellowship of Hair Artists of Great Britain and over the years has grown in stature and now covers many areas of the professional hairdressing industry. They are an independent, non-political organisation run by it's members, for it's members focussing on promoting artistic and creative quality, and providing support for future hairdressing talent keen to make their own mark in the industry.

The Club Star Art Team (which is exclusively for hair professionals aged 16 to 25) is a mentor programme held over the period of one year where selected stylists are given opportunities within the industry to network, gain new skills and work on projects such as photoshoots and shows under the guidance of industry legends.

Lucy applied for the Art Team by submitting a portfolio including a 2 minute video showcasing her work and introducing herself to the judges. After submitting her entry she was invited to attend the final auditions which were held at the Wella World Studios in London on September 5th.

At the finals Lucy was asked to create a look on a model, including hair, makeup and styling, within a one hour allocated time slot. Once completed she then presented her model to a panel of judges describing how she achieved her look, the inspiration behind it and display a mood board she had created to accompany it.

The judges on the day were Fellowship for British Hairdressing Chancellor and award winning stylist Karolina Saunders, Social Media star and multi-award winning hair stylist Casey Coleman, and Club Star Art Team mentor and industry star Jamie Bennett.

Lucy was heavily inspired by Studio 54 in the planning of her look and demonstrated this beautifully with a sequined dress, bold glittery makeup and a textured disco half-up-half-down hair style which helped her stand out to the judges against the other 15 candidates.

The following day Lucy was personally phoned by Rita Livesey from the Fellowship of British Hairdressing to deliver the incredible news that she had been selected to join the Club Star Art Team!

We couldn't be prouder of Lucy's achievements, within her two years at Goldsworthys she has already been a finalist for Assistant of the Year at the British Hairdressing Business Awards and now at only 18 she will be the youngest member of the Art Team which is an incredible milestone for her vastly progressing career! We cannot wait to watch Lucy's journey and see what the next year has in store for her!
