As the festive period comes ever closer the count down has always been signified by The Fellowship for British Hairdressing Luncheon and Awards held at London's Dorchester Hotel for all hairdressers. But this year was made extra special with the announcement of next years F.A.M.E Team 2013 inductees as our very own Joshua Goldsworthy was one of the 8 finalists fighting for their place in the chosen 4. And we can take enormous pride and pleasure in announcing that Joshua was one of these very lucky young hairdressers and will see himself shot to stardom in the next coming year as a one to watch for his bright future in the industry. Keep your eyes looked on our news page because its going to be a very busy year!!

The Goldsworthy's boys ventured up to Manchester for an evening that boasted Catwallk shows and a night of entertainment for the American Crew FACE OFF awards held at The Lancashire Cricket Ground, The Point in the city centre. Lucky shortlisted team members included Joshua Goldsworthy, Morgan Bisley, Thomas Hardy, Rachel Lait, Gabbi John, Danielle Sealey, Sarah Abbley & Chloe McCoy. Unfortunately none of our talented finalists walked away with the prize but I'm sure the boys made the most of the free beers at the event!

Goldsworthys Artistic Team members Joshua Goldsworthy & Vicky Turner appeared on the HJ "Hairdressers Journal" Stage at Salon International, one of the worlds biggest trade events held at the Excel Centre in the London Docklands. Assisted on stage by fellow team members Jess Larrad & Danielle Sealey, the pair created catwalk inspired braid/plait creations as they opened the final day to a packed audience. Feedback was overwhelming with audience members and production team alike commending the team on a fantastic presentation and beautiful hair.

Having gained his place in the final of the FAME Team 2013 auditions Joshua Goldsworthy then had to create a hair up style in 20 minutes on stage in front of an audience, followed by a 2 minute presentation that afternoon to a panel of judges and once again a packed house of hairdressers at Salon International at the Excel Centre in the Docklands London. Josh created an intricate pleat and roll style using all of his model Sarah's own natural hair in 20 minutes followed by presenting his second model Abbie, for whom josh had hand made a wig using Balmain Hair wefts and cut into a Vidal Sassoon inspired 5 point bob shape. Joshua's points will be added to previous rounds and now has to wait until the 3rd of December at the Fellowship Luncheon to see if he has been successful in gaining his place on next years team.

Rachel Lait has been honoured with the accolade of being a finalist in the annual national Photographic Stylist of the Year Competition held by the NHF. Rachel successfully entered her picture (left) into the competition which sees her attending an awards dinner in October to hear the results. Rachel is one of four shorlisted so wish her the best of luck.

Having completed yet another successful London Fashion Week only 2 weeks previous Joshua Goldsworthy was doing it all over again, however this time it saw him jetting out to Paris for the pleasure. Joshua had been approached by highly acclaimed Session Stylist Anthony Turner at LFW for his skills and was then invited out to join his team in Paris for the Paul & Joe show, as well as this Joshua also joined up with TIGI and head stylist Bruno for the Masha Ma show the following day. Paul and Joe saw Joshua create u low understated ponytails and Masha Ma a wet/dry textured faux bob.

We are proud to announce that Danielle Sealey has been awarded a place on next years NHF Inspire Team. Having entered a photographic image of her work Danielle and fellow Goldsworthys Swindon team member Jess Larrad gained places into the finals, held at Wella World HQ. Here the pair had to create hair that could potentially adorn a cover of a top magazine, as well as under go a short interview and presentation of the work to a panel of esteemed judges. Being a NHF Inspire Team member means Danielle will spend the year gaining vital experience and learning from some the industries greats as well as producing photographic collections and working onstage as part of a team. Watch this space!

Joshua Goldsworthy once again attended this years Spring Summer Fashion Week as part of the TIGI Session Team. Joshua worked backstage on shows such as Christopher Kane, Mark Fast, where he was lucky enough to work on top model Daisy Lowe, & Osman. Whilst working backstage Joshua was also invited to come and work along side Anthony Turner and his team on future shows! The looks for each show ranged fromeffortless gelled ponytails at Christopher Kane, Salt N Pepper inspired wig creations for Mark Fast & wet look quiffs with natural textured waves for Osman.

Joshua Goldsworthy has once again earned his place in the Finals of the FAME Team auditions with his selection into the final 8 this weekend. Having already entered a CV and and photographic image of his hair work to get to the 16 Semi finalist's, Joshua then had to recreate that image in an 1 hour on one of his models, followed by a creative cut and blow dry again in a further hour on his second, add into this a 10 minute interview and a presentation of his models and inspiration in front of a packed audience at the Wella World Studios in London in the evening, it all made for a very intense day. Joshua now has to complete a hair up in 20 minutes as well as a presentation model both live on stage at Salon International in October to earn his place on next years team!!

This year the Goldsworthys Artistic Team are entering the American Crew FACE OFF competition, held annually to find the best men's hairdressers in the UK. The prize sees the winners attending a professional photo shoot in Las Vegas as well as a generous prize fund. Each team member created a look they felt embodiescurrent trends and fashion on their model, this was then photographed at an in salon photo shoot shot by Sophie Goldsworthy and submitted online along with step by step, explanation of their inspiration and American Crew products used. We have our fingers crossed for them all.

We were extremely touched whenregular client of Goldsworthys Swindon, and Paralympic Athlete I should add, Louise Hunt delivered 4 day tickets to the salon recently. Louise's stylist Joshua Goldsworthy along with Steven, Oli Berwick & Danielle Sealey attended the once in a lifetime event which saw them watch Wheelchair Tennis, Blind Football & Goal Ball on the day as well as sampling the atmosphere of the Olympic Park. Before heading home, the team caught up with Louise outside the Paralympic Village for dinner and chatted about what it was like to compete at the games.

Once again Joshua Galsworthy's extensions skills were called upon by TV Presenter, and Wright Show Co-Host, Kirsty Duffy. Kirsty, who recently has gone blonder, had Balmain Double hair applied by Joshua in the Swindon Salon ready for her appearance presenting the Taekwondo at the Olympics this week.

After completing a series of questions, submitting his CV and an image of his work Joshua Goldsworthy has been chosen to be 1 of 10 talented hair stylists to accompany Nick Irwin, International Creative Director for TIGI, and his team for the up coming year. This will see Joshua once again working at this years London Fashion Week. Before doing so the team will be preped with a 3 day intensive course taken by Nick, where he will teach them the ins and outs of the session styling world and what they should expect in the forthcoming year. 

Stylists Steven & Joshua Goldsworthy assisted by Danielle Sealey transformed 3 beautiful models using Balmain Hair extensions. Each girl came with there own hair problems which the trio then diagnosed using the Balmain Hair+ Philosophy creating length for Julia (left) using 60cm double hair extensions, filling in broken corners and adding colour without using chemicals on Cass (middle) as well as restyling Ellie (right) by adding in a long fringe and side as well as brightening it up with purple flashes. Each was photographed individually with step by steps as well as a final group shot on location at a trendy restaurant in Weston Super-mare, a behind the scenes video is being incorporated in the issue through a QR Code reader shortcut.
